SLEEPLESSNESS

Inese Vēriņa-Lubiņa

September 6 – October 1, 2016

Exhibition SLEEPLESSNESS cause a feeling about what can be seen with eyes closed or in hazy conditions. It has happened, but maybe it never happened. This fact seems unimportant: there is a possibility to find something well known in these abstract stories when you are awake as well as in a dream. It can be unattainable and at the same time very present.

The collection has evolved from the artist’s daily carried out studies, sketches, observations and experiments related to finding natural shapes in the dark, mist, rain, underwater or in the other conditions that can be associated with difficulty in visibility while being awake.
